Alcoholic

Beer and gin are the most preferred alcoholic drink by Filipinos. Filipino creativity is not limited only to foods. In fact, there are number of alcoholic drinks originally invented by Filipinos. Gin pomelo and gin pineapple are some of the original Filipino alcoholic drink inventions.

Boracay is an original Filipino drink. The drink is named after Boracay island because it was where the drink was invented. Also, Boracay is the Filipino version of Bailey’s Irish cream.

Boracay

Ingredients:

•    1 bottle of rum
•    1 can condensed milk
•    2 sachet of coffe
•    3 sachet of milo choco drink

Procedure:
In a large pitcher mix all ingredients and serve with ice..

Choco Bum

Ingredients:

•    1 bottle of gin
•    3 sachet of milk
•    3 sachet of powdered juice
•    2 sachet of coffee

Procedure:

In a large pitcher mix all ingredients and serve with ice.

Rum Coke

Ingredients:

•    4 oz.  rum
•    8 oz. coca cola coke

Procedure:
Mix all ingredients in a highball glass and serve with ice.

These are some of the world’s most popular alcoholic drinks:

Daiquiri

Ingredients:

•    3 fl oz (75 ml) white rum
•    4 tablespoons lime juice
•    1 teaspoon sugar syrup and crushed iced cubes
•    1 slice of lime to decorate

Procedure:

Pour all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with crushed iced cubes. Shake well to mix. Strain the mixture into chilled cocktail glass(es) and serve decorated with slice(s) of lime.

Authentic Pina colada

Ingredients:

•    15 oz light rum
•    20 oz coconut cream
•    20 oz pineapple juice
•    10 cup crushed ice

Procedure:

Pour rum, cream of coconut and pineapple juice into a blender with one cup of crushed ice. Blend until smooth, and pour into a collins glass. Garnish with a slice of pineapple. This serving is good for 10 glasses.

Hot buttered rum

Ingredients:

•    10 oz light rum
•    10 teaspoons sugar
•    5 teaspoons butter
•    40 cloves

Procedure:

Mix sugar, butter and cloves to a coffee mug. Pour the rum, and stir well. Fill with boiling water. Stir again and serve.

Long Island Iced tea

Ingredients:

•    1 part vodka
•    1 part tequila
•    1 part rum
•    1 part gin
•    1 part triple sec.
•    1 ½ parts sweet and sour mix
•    1 splash coca-cola

Procedure:

Mix ingredients together over ice in a glass. Pour into a shaker and  shake. Pour back into the glass and garnish with lemon.
