Italian Dishes
One of the most popular dishes anywhere in the world is Italian. Pasta is the main ingredient in every Italian dish with a creamy sauce and cheesy flavour. Filipinos have their own version of Italian spaghetti and pizza. The recipes are listed below.
Filipino-Style Spaghetti
Ingredients:
• 1 kilo spaghetti noodles
• 1/2 kg. ground beef
• 1/2 kg. ground pork
• 1/4 kg. hotdogs, diagonally sliced
• 1 kg. tomato sauce
• 1/4 cup brown or white sugar
• 2 green bell peppers, diced
• 2 onions, chopped
• 1 head garlic, minced
• 3 tablespoons cooking oil
• 1 cup of water
• Salt and pepper
• 1/2 cup grated cheese
Procedure:
Cook spaghetti noodles according to package instructions. In a sauce pan, sauté garlic and onions. Add ground beef, ground pork, bell pepper and a cup of water. Bring to boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Add tomato sauce, salt and pepper to taste then simmer for another 10 minutes. Add brown sugar and hotdogs and continue to simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Serve with the cooked spaghetti noodles and grated cheese on top.

Pan de sal is rounded salty bread. Wherever you go in the Philippines you will see bakeries selling pan de sal. Moreover, pan de sal is a part of every Filipino’s breakfast accompanied by hot cup of coffee. It can also be eaten with scrambled egg or anything you like to put in it.
Pan de sal pizza is another Filipino original which is made of left-over pan de sal and other left over ingredients in the kitchen. Kids are sure to love this. Another thing is, it only takes 15 minutes to prepare pan de sal pizza.
Pan de sal Pizza
Ingredients:
• pan de sal, slice into half
• 1 can pizza sauce
• ¼ hotdog
• ¼ cooked ham
• 1 bell pepper, cut into strips
Procedure:
Spread pizza sauce into pan de sal. Put the remaining ingredients on top of the pan de sal. Place inside an oven toaster and cook for 8 minutes.
