Sago at gulaman is a popular drink especially during the hot summer months in the Philippines. Gulaman is jelly and sago is tapioca pearls made from tapioca starch. These two are also the main ingredients of halo halo and other native Filipino drinks.

Sago at Gulaman
Ingredients:
•    1 cup sugar
•    1 bar white gulaman soaked in water and drained
•    2 cups cooked sago (tapioca pearls)
•    2 cups water
Procedure:

Caramelize sugar until golden brown then, add water and bring to a boil. Put in the softened gulaman (or Jello) and stir until completely melted. Strain into a baking pan. Cool and cut into cubes. Follow the procedure of gulaman to make sago syrup.  Continue cooking the caramelized sugar and water until syrupy. Pour boiling water over the sago, drain and combine with the syrup. Serve with cubed gulaman with crushed ice.

Slushy Fruit punch
Ingredients:
•    3 oz (84 grm). strawberry powdered jell-o
•    3 cups (700 ml) sugar
•    4 cups (950 ml) boiling water
•    12 oz (336 grm). can frozen lemonade concentrate
•    46 oz (1288 grm). pineapple juice
•    2 quarts (1900 ml) ginger ale
Procedure:

Mix 3 oz powdered strawberry jell-o with 3 cups sugar.  Then add 4 cups (950 ml) boiling water and mix.  Put in small freezer containers and freeze. Mix 12 oz  lemonade with the 46 oz (1288 grm). pineapple juice and the 2 quarts (1900 ml) of ginger ale.  Mix well and add the frozen strawberry mixture, this will make it slushy.

Iced Coffee
Ingredients:
•    2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
•    1 teaspoon sugar
•    3 tablespoons warm water
•    6 fluid ounces cold milk
Procedure:

In a sealable jar, combine instant coffee, sugar and warm water. Cover the jar and shake until it is foamy. Pour into a glass full of ice and add milk. Adjust to taste if necessary.
